WHSmith Gift Card Terms & Conditions

PROTECT THIS GIFT CARD (“CARD”) AND TREAT IT LIKE CASH

  1. Once activated this Gift Card can be used as full or part payment for goods in UK WHSmith stores (excluding concessions and stores located at motorway service stations, WHSmith Local, London Underground sites or WHS franchise stores) and on WHSmith.co.uk.
  2. ​Gift Cards are non-refundable and no change will be given, but any balance remaining on the card may be applied to future purchases. Where goods purchased with the Gift Card are subsequently exchanged for goods of a lower price or returned for refund, monies owing will be added to the balance on the Gift Card.
  3. Your new balance will (if used in store) be shown on your receipt every time you make a purchase or can be checked at any till in store or (if used online) can be checked online at: whsmith.co.uk/giftcard
  4. The minimum amount required to activate or top-up this Gift Card is £5, the maximum amount is £500 in one transaction, and the maximum limit is £500.
  5. Please treat this Gift Card as if it were cash, as the balance cannot be returned to you if it is lost or stolen.
  6. This Gift card is not redeemable for cash, neither is it a credit, charge or cheque guarantee card.
  7. This Gift Card will expire after 24 months of consecutive non-use and the balance will be deducted. Cards with a zero balance will expire after 65 days.
  8. WH Smith Promotions Ltd. Reserves the right to amend or waive these terms and conditions or terminate this scheme on reasonable notice. Such amendments will be notified in advance via in-store displays.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Sales of WHSmith gift cards and e-gift cards are made, managed and fulfilled by Voucher Express - a trading name of Hemingways Marketing Services Ltd, Metcalfe House, 23H Kirkgate, Ripon. HG4 1PB, established 1947 and registered in England 453174. VAT Reg No: 169725424. Voucher Express is the seller of the gift cards.
  2. WHSmith gift cards and e-gift cards supplied by this website can be purchased in £ sterling.
  3. £ sterling gift cards and e-gift cards can be used as full or part payment for any products purchased in WHSmith UK stores or www.whsmith.co.uk.
  4. Gift cards ordered through this site will be sent by Voucher Express to the delivery address stated on each individual order. Deliveries will be made using Royal Mail services. Orders with a combined value of £50 or less will be sent by 1st class post. All other orders will be sent by either Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery and will require a signature on arrival.
  5. Gift cards will normally be dispatched by Voucher Express within two working days unless a specified later delivery date is requested. Where possible we will try to meet all delivery requirements but neither Voucher Express nor WHSmith shall be liable for any loss incurred either directly or indirectly by failure to meet the delivery date and time indicated at the time of order being placed. ‘Loss’ in this instance includes loss of profit, costs, damages, charges or other expenses.
  6. Risk will pass to the customer upon delivery and title will pass upon receipt of payments in full. Neither Voucher Express nor WHSmith can be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged gift cards following delivery to the recipient. Gift cards will NOT be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged. Neither Voucher Express nor WHSmith areis responsibleare responsible for funds on the card used without your knowledge.
  7. WHSmith gift cards and e-gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash and cash refunds will not be available for products purchased with this card. Voucher Express is not directly linked to WHSmith and can take no responsibility for products and services offered by WHSmith. For the same reason, WHSmith shall not be responsible for services offered by Voucher Express and its associated companies, including without limitation the collection and management of your credit card data and personal information which is collected, processed and managed by Voucher Express.
  8. Gift card quantities should be checked immediately upon receipt. Any discrepancies must be notified immediately. Voucher Express cannot be held responsible for shortage or loss of any gift cards not notified to us within three days of delivery.
  9. Cleared payment is required prior to the dispatch of orders. Payment is taken automatically at the time of purchase by Voucher Express. Your credit/debit card statement will read 'Voucher Express'. We reserve the right to decline any order without providing explanation. WHSmith will not be given access to your credit/debit card details.
  10. Gift cards which are defaced, altered or cancelled will not be accepted in WHSmith stores.
  11. The re-sale of gift cards and e-gift cards sold via this website is strictly prohibited.
  12. Your use of this website is governed by these Terms and Conditions and construed and enforced in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Disputes arising from your use of this website and the services we provide are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
  13. Force Majeure: Voucher Express cannot be held responsible for failure to meet its service obligations when any failure is brought about due to some cause totally beyond its reasonable control. Examples of this might include: acts of God, trade disputes; governmental intervention, fire, flood, and disruption to computer and IT infrastructure.
  14. Breach of these conditions will entitle Voucher Express to seek the appropriate legal remedy available for injunction, damages or otherwise.
